Sturgis Falls, Where Community Comes Together

Community-connecting post written for the Benda Team at Lockard Realty. See it here.

Cars lining the streets and the sugary scent of mini donuts can only mean one thing in the city of Cedar Falls. The Sturgis Falls celebration has begun.

Sturgis Falls is a 40-year tradition that has only grown bigger and better. Just this year, the celebration set a new attendance record. Hundreds of food and craft vendors set up their tents throughout downtown Cedar Falls, while thousands leisurely stroll down the streets. The entire weekend is booked with local music groups and even includes a talent show. Across the Cedar River is a small amusement park filled with carnival games and rides for the younger crowd.

Businesses in Cedar Falls thrive due to the increased traffic. All of the graduated classes of Cedar Falls High School host their reunions on the weekend of Sturgis Falls, bringing more families and visitors to join in the celebration. Restaurants and boutiques located downtown considered this their busiest weekend of the year. Other organizations will sponsor events or set up booths to promote their business.

Because of all the excitement Sturgis Falls brings to the community, a downtown venue is a substantial consideration for a business. One of our properties, located on the corner of Tremont and First Street, is a prime location for business owners wanting to join the downtown scene in Cedar Falls. A view of the Cedar River and the recently-built boat house is possible from a potential second story on this site.

For more information on this property, contact me by phone or email. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses eager to serve the sea of thousands that this event brings to the community.

We hope to see you participating in the Sturgis Falls celebration next year!
