The reign of purple is here. Pantone recently announced the Color of the Year for 2018 as the striking hue of Ultra Violet.
Stephen B. Jacobs, founder of Stephen B. Jacobs Group P.C. Architects and Planners in New York, says there is no fear in overusing ultra violet due to its timelessness. Jacobs says he and his wife, interior designer Andi Pepper, use the color often in hotels or other projects.
Pepper says ultra violet can be easily used as an accent color or main color in interior design. “It reads very lovely,” Pepper says. “It’s just a great color that can play off well any use of browns or any other color in the spectrum—traditional colors and also modern colors such as magenta.”
